Made by a women's cooperative that specializes in the use of indigo, natural dyes, and 100% cotton, these wraps are handmade in a garden setting in Santa Ana, El Salvador. The cooperative started as a result of El Salvador's 12-year civil war, as a way for the women to earn a living despite economic strife.
Created to help women worldwide gain economic security for themselves and their families by earning fair wages for their handiwork, Global Girlfriend sources women-made, fair-trade imported, eco-friendly products. By supporting long-term partnerships with the artisans, it fosters equal employment opportunities, healthy and safe working conditions, technical assistance, and development strategies to help reduce poverty, one community at a time. Wrap is 100% cotton and hand-dyed with indigo. Measures about 36" T x 59" W (91 x 150 cm). Handmade in and fairly traded from El Salvador.
