Swirls of natural ironstone and traces of shimmery opal combine to create a stunning pendant from underneath Down Under! The ironstone matrix provides a dynamic piece of nature, shot through with scintillating opal inclusions.
Many opals sold today are lab-grown or composed of opal bits bound together with adhesive. These opals, however, are 100% natural Australian boulder opals, cut directly from the rock in which they formed. The veins of opal are a translucent sky blue, and exhibit different ranges of color from purple to red, depending on the chemical makeup of the stone. Imported directly from the opal mine in Queensland, Australia, our pendants were hand-cut in freeform geometric shapes to display the natural luminosity of the embedded opal. Each pendant is a one-of-a-kind creation of nature.
Ironstone and opal pendants range from approximately 0.5 - 1" sq. (1.3 - 2.54 cm sq.), and come on an 18" (45.7 cm) sterling silver Italian snake chain.
